The developments of applications and technologies are often unpredictable. Where the light industry used to work with potentiometers and switches, today, for example, 1-10V and DALI are standard. KNX and other BUS systems manage a wide range of trades. Web technologies and the Internet of Things are bringing a whole new, above all dynamic world to the lighting industry.

Our control system PICOlightnode has taken up this challenge. Both hardware and software are designed to be as open as possible. The hardware is designed to dock different systems. On the software side, the system can be connected to others by so-called web APIs (also already programmed).

One thing is very important to us: you decide which of your data is used and how! So, it is again like then with the light switch: you have control over your light yourself!

Cloud-independent

– to cloud or not to cloud, and no matter which one –

The decision is up to you: do you want to store your data in a cloud or not. If so, you have the choice: the cloud of a well-known provider? Or your own? The software of the PICOlightnode is designed to be open to maximum.

Therefore, you decide for yourself which of your data is used and how. And if you choose not to have a cloud solution? The system’s intelligences are also available offline and are not dependent on proprietary manufacturers.

Scalable

From the cell to the organism.

Especially with regard to control technology, one should not have to plan from an entire structure, perhaps not at all conceivable. Rather, the system should grow through use, knowledge and, above all, by end-users.

For this purpose, we have developed our own control system: the PICOlightnode, which is intended “from the cell to the organism”. Thus, it is not necessary to buy a complete, centralized control system if you want to equip only a small area at first. If required, the system can also be easily adapted to their purposes by the users themselves via web interface. This allows them to have an optimum user experience while avoiding additional programming costs.

PICOlightnode offers users, builders, planners and technicians unprecedented possibilities and freedoms. Whether for the world of work, residential and accommodation properties or outdoor facilities. And: sometimes it is only the PICOlightnode which enables the client or the planner to put their project into practice just like they have planned it.

PICOlightnode allows you to set everything, but on the other hand you do not need to do that: Light scenes can be preconfigured as a standard or by default according to the course of the day but can also be overridden at any time by the users themselves, thus enabling an optimal light experience for everyone.

With PICOlighnode, (ceiling) luminaires can run through a default setup.
For example, in offices, luminaires can be already switched on and
adapted to the time of the day, shortly before work begins, in order to create
a pleasant atmosphere for the employees already from the time of their arrival.

can control their workstation lights manually at any time with the
help of a clear web interface - whether on the desktop or with their

With the help of its intelligent sensors, PICOlightnode detects when
individual workstations or entire rooms are occupied and automatically
turns off the light as soon as this is no longer the case. The PICOlightnode
not only increases the lifespan of the lamps, but also realizes an
enormous potential for energy and monetary savings. Furthermore, all
manual overrides can be reset automatically at the end of the day.
